Royal Icing Class includes:
– Recipes & Notes (printed)
– Pre-baked cookies to decorate (+- 8 cookies, mixed sizes)
– Royal Icing (Demonstration)
– The use of tools and equipment from workshop
– Refreshments (Coffee Station with Drinks and Snacks)

Techniques include:
– Mixing your own RI consistencies in class (coloring & flavoring included)
– How to bag your RI mess free
– Demonstration on holding your piping bag correctly followed by demos on basic piping techniques, florals and more.
– Difference between standard RI and RI with added glucose. Work with both in the class.
– Practice your own techniques in class with guidance to achieve the best results & troubleshooting. Hands on practical before working on the cookies.
– Flower transfers, demo & do it yourself
– Basics for beginners (Outline & Flooding)
– Wet-on-wet techniques (carrots/florals/dots)
– Painted effects (speckled egg)
– RI Flowers (Daffodils, Ribbon Rose & Sweet Pea buds). Flower transfers & working directly onto your cookie with florals
– Other piping techniques: Basket weave, rope & ruffles on tutu
– Detail work (Working with edible pens, dry dusting & other)
– Other details/techniques: Fluffy texture on bunnies, Moss, 2D designs
– Basics on using a dehydrator or your oven
– Troubleshooting & general discussion about RI and baking of cookies.

– Classes are small, 4-6 students per class max.
– The Yellow Hat Chef is a small home based business situated inside Centurion Golf Estate.
– Your booking will be confirmed upon receipt of payment. Full payment is payable to TYHC.
– No refund when a student is absent from her/his class.
– Cancellations: 50% refund when cancelling 1 month in advance. 25% refund when cancelling 2 weeks in advance. No refunds when cancelling 2 weeks or less before scheduled class date. (All classes are prepared for within a 1 month time frame, deposits made covers all costs involved).
– TYHC has the right to cancel or reschedule the class if there is not enough interest/ bookings.
